Health Improv

Helping caring professionals care for themselves

"If you carrot all for others, you can care for yourself."
My Story

"Kathy shows care, compassion
and empathy."
I began my career as a clinical dietitian in a mid-sized hospital. I soon realized my true passion was helping people stay out of the hospital and looked for a way I could contribute to promoting wellness.

I spent the core of my career in public health, including 10 years as a local Health Commissioner. Working in a local public health department offered me a variety of roles and opportunities, from working with individuals and groups, to community-wide planning coalitions. The role of public health is to assure conditions that promote the health of a community. As I reviewed health statistics year after year, I realized that it is also important for us to create conditions within ourselves to promote our own individual well-being in order for a community to be healthy. In the busy-ness of life, too often self-care falls to the bottom of our ‘to do’ lists (even for me!). Self-care has to be a priority in all of our lives. This realization motivated me to become a health and well-being coach.

Founding Health Improv has allowed me to pursue my passion of promoting self-care, especially for those in caring professions. As a health educator, wellness coach, and dietitian, I bring a healthy dose of practical creativity and humor to the table, believing that those who can laugh, last.
To be your best self, you need to have your best health. I want to help you have your very own best health.
We were meant to enjoy good health. Good health for its own sake is not the objective of living. Health is a resource. It’s a resource we need to do anything else in our lives – and good health allows us to live a full life and contribute our own special gifts to the world.
People who feel good, do good.
Are you ready to get started?
I look forward to meeting you!
